Author Dinner on April 9th

On Wednesday, April 9, Harvard historian and crime author, Karen Chaney, will take us back to 1850's Boston, as she discusses the sensational Parkman murder trial and the affect it had on Boston society. In August of 1849, a respected Harvard chemistry professor murdered his colleague, Dr. George Parkman, at the Boston Medical College next to MGH and hid his body parts in his laboratory at Harvard. The professor was subsequently arrested, tried, and executed at the Leverett St Jail. Once the story made the daily papers, it shocked and preoccupied Boston society, quickly made headlines around the world, and was called "the crime of the century". You won't want to miss this fascinating talk or the wonderful dinner Chef Jesse has prepared for the evening. .
