Dear Members and Friends,
College graduates earn nearly double the income of high school graduates. Struggling families often cannot afford to send their children to college, jeopardizing their future as successful adults. You can help.
Since 1986, the College Club Scholarship Fund has provided scholarships to nearly 200 graduating Boston Public School seniors. These funds have helped many individuals, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to pursue a college education, make a dream happen. The College Club Scholarship Fund, because of your contributions and those of fellow members, has helped improve the quality of these young adult’s lives and undoubtedly the lives of their children and their children’s children in the years to come. Helping one individual attend college helps more than one person. The lives of their families and all the people they will touch due to the careers they choose are all enhanced. As you can see this is not only a gift toward the cost of their college education, it is a gift that improves the quality of the world and our society as a whole. Please think of this fact as you decide whether and what amount you can give. Also please remember, you may be able to increase the impact of your donations by asking that your employer or organization match your gift, doubling or sometimes even tripling the amount of your contribution. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Please also consider donating a Named Scholarship as it is a unique gift and tribute to someone important in your life. Donors of $3,000 or more will have the special honor of naming a scholarship. By giving a named scholarship, you will have the honor of presenting your scholarship to the recipient at our annual Scholarship Luncheon on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Please save the date.
Donors of $250 or more will be invited to a very special thank you cocktail party at a committee member’s Back Bay home on March 27th. Please join us!
We need each and every College Club member’s commitment to achieve our goal and to continue this generous College Club tradition. With your help, we aim to give out more scholarships this year than ever before. Please join us as we celebrate our investment in the future of Boston youth.
All the Best,
College Club Scholarship Committee 2011-2012
